Gene Murray
The Salem native has studied and performed with the American Ballet Theater, Ballet
Russe de Monte Carlo, Leon Danielson, Peter Gennaro, June Taylor, and Johnny Coy of the
Ziegfield Follies. The list of his Broadway, road companies and television credits is
long, and includes the Broadway Company of "Take Me Along" and the National Company of
"Guys and Dolls." Director of the Gene Murray School of Dance Education, Murray is one of
the nation’s most sought-after dance teacher and judges of young talent. He is
repeatedly invited to fill these roles at dance symposia and pageants across the country.
The technical and performing skills of Gene Murray’s Fabulous Nine reflect his
accomplishments.
Mr. Murray is a Master Teacher/Choreographer and currently the Director of the Platinum
Tap Company and formerly the Director of Gene Murray Dance Theater. The School offers
instruction in all levels, beginning to professional, in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and
Ballroom; as well as advanced classes and choreography for other Teachers of Dance.
